With its 300 000 residents, Puerto Vallarta is becoming a most sought after destination. This destination offers a wide range of services in order to satisfy even the most demanding clientele.
The beauty of this city is not only due to its streets made of stone with its white houses and red roofs tops, lovely parks, lively places and its beautiful maritime walk, but due to a series of topographic and geological factors. The city is built on a mountainside (the Western Sierra Madre), bordering one of the largest Mexican bays (Banderas Bay) and is split in two by a river. All of these characteristics bring out the city’s colonial architectural value that has been amazingly preserved.
Puerto Vallarta is the place where you can discover galleries, restaurants, original boutiques and little museums at your pace and rhythm or where you can simply find a quiet little place to relax in the shadow of a cathedral.
The gay lifestyle is mostly concentrated in the south of the city, just across the river. This part of the city is known as the " South Side", "La Zona Romantica" or " The Old Town". This part of the city will be the main subject of my next article.
